Some visiting in-house training course options are as follows:

Commercial Awareness for Site Supervisors and Engineers

This course is set at basic level, and is very practical, emphasising commercial awareness, record keeping, site diaries, giving of delay notices, reasons why needed, protection from commercial disaster etc - for Site Supervisors, Foreman and Charge Hands.  A half day or full day course.

Commercial Awareness for Managers and Engineers

A more "senior level" course, concentrating on "real life" problems, protection, risk allocation and getting paid including an introduction to the Building and Construction Industry Payments Act (Qld) 2004, programme pitfalls, securing extensions of time, dealy and disruption cost entitlements, recording and maximising of variations, good and bad correspondence etc. - for Contract Managers and Engineers, Planners and Senior Supervisors.  A full day course.

Contract Law for Trade and Subcontractors - "Practical Guidance of rthe "real world"

This course concentrates on the pre-contract and contractual aspects, identifying risks, onerous clauses, void clauses under Queensland Law, formation of contract, enquiry, tender, leetrs of intent, "battle of the forms".  Also looks at damages, extension of time, variations and claims for delay costs and standard form contracts.  Also looks briefly at the key features of the Buidling and Construction Industry Payments Act and how it can assist you in getting paid. - for all grades of staff involved in any way in contract administration.  A half day or full day course.

Contractual workshop - securing entitlements to extension of time, variations and delay costs

This "senior level" course concentrates on securing of entitlements to time and money by refernce to AS4000 and AS2124, including detailed discussion and interactive exercises for identification, notification, preparation, reimbursement and negotiation of "claims" for extension of time and delay costs, acceleration quotations, and variations. - for Contracts Managers, Contract Administrators, Engineers.  A full day course.

Building and Construction Industry Payments Act (Qld) 2004 and the "tricks and traps" to look out for

This course covers the basics of the Act with a very practical emphasis, including administration and payment of subcontractors and sub-subcontractors.  Also highlights some of the "dirty tricks" contained in the other party's terms and conditions.
